It is always nice to receive feedback from parents, but this one is special. Leo uploaded this video in which he reviews AmblyoPlay. Watch the video and get first hand information about AmblyoPlay.
Software was crashing on us at the start so we almost gave up. Thankfully we got to someone from the team over email and they were able to make it work after a week or two with an update. They got us a month for free because of the problem so we are so far quite satisfied with how everything is going. We’re not really following with daily exercises because we just want to improve son’s reading ability (he has hard time reading because he has some problems with convergence).
More games, more games, more games! What you have is great but our daughter (10) got bored after 2 months. She plays Candy Crush and games like that and it’s quite hard to keep her attention for long. At the end, we had to convince her to keep playing (which she did but we had to put in quite some effort) but I think if you had more games, we wouldn’t have this problem.
We started using amblyoplay 2 months ago with our 7-year old. It was recommended by a friend who saw an ad on Facebook so we were a bit hesitant at first – but what a pleasant surprise it was! We have previously tried different apps and programs to work on our sons lazy eye, but there was never so much progress as with amblyoplay. There were a couple of issues with the software (a bit confusing set-up, some occasional crashes…) but the support by people at amblyoplay has been great so far! At the current pace we should be done in 1-2 months, fingers crossed!
Of late, we went for a check-up to our eyecare specialist. My son’s vision has improved from previous 10%-20% to incredible 70%. Your application definitely aids in the improvement and the specialists were really thrilled with your innovative approach. They will recommend it to the other patients too!
We got surgery back in May and we were told we should exercise the eye at home to strengthen the muscle. Wasn’t really given much of a guidance besides that so we were trying different things. At checkups no one said anything would be wrong so I guess it worked – his strabismus didn’t return!
After 6 months we’re still not where we wanted. Maybe we were a bit too optimistic when first starting out but everyone told us it will be a lengthy process. We still have long way to go to completely recover but we’re getting there slowly. Don’t expect over night results or you can be disappointed!
Overall, we were quite satisfied with how the program worked. We used it for 3 months and we used it in combination with 2 hours of patching. The progress was great but we weren’t as strict following the daily repetition as maybe we should be – we skipped quite a few days and we quickly forgot that we have it on our tablet. Maybe a recommendation – remind us, parents! We have so much to think about that we sometimes forget about this!
So is AmblyoPlay a good program for fixing strabismus? AmblyoPlay is an amazing computer-based tool for vision therapy. The red/blue activities cancel perfectly with the glasses provided, making an amazing tool to break suppression and improve symptoms associated with strabismus and amblyopia. AmblyoPlay isn’t the only tool that you will need to fix strabismus, but it is one thing that will make a big difference! Maybe you’ve never heard of Amblyoplay, I will walk you through what it is and how it can help.
I am Nora’s grandfather. She and her mother live with us….and I can tell you that Nora’s doctor was overjoyed at the improvement with reference to her focusing and tracking skills. The activities and games have made a major improvement and I cannot thank you enough for this product. Her doctor absolutely encouraged us to continue the program and was curious as to how she might gain digital access to Nora’s progress. Nora loves the program and gets so excited when she has achieved a certain score she wants to achieve….and she is totally unaware of how much she improving her focusing and tracking skills! This product is terrific. Allow me to share this experience with you: I lived in Geneva. Switzerland when I was 19 years old (some 49 years ago!) I have worn glasses since I was 6 years old and while living in Geneva I began to have trouble with my vision…headaches, difficulty while reading, etc. I was attending various language schools and reading was a major component. The doctor I saw there diagnosed me with essentially the same issue as Nora…but his solution to help my eyes focus at the same time was to give me what was basically tongue depressor with a small picture of Mickey Mouse painted near the tip. I was to sit in a chair and for thirty minutes a day hold the thing at arm’s length and pull it toward my face slowly and try to train my eyes to focus in unison!!! So, I would say some significant advances have been made since then!!!! Thanks again for your research, your help and your product. I wish you continued success. Sincerely From A Grateful Grandpa,
I started vision therapy after 30 days of vestibular therapy from toxic mold poisoning from a leaky pipe in our condo’s laundry room. I lost my ability to see clearly and converge. I had 18 percent use of convergence in my left eye and I was so nauseated and could not drive. After 12 sessions my ability to converge was raised to 80 percent. The key to keeping your ability to converge as an adult is what you do at home on a daily basis. Vision therapy sessions run up to $200 a session. AmblyoPlay was my answer! I can work convergence or I can work just my left eye. It’s nice to have a preprogrammed format I can follow, and this helps me on days when I don’t want to work the Brock string. Vision therapy absolutely works for adults and I’m happy to have an at-home app that allows me to reduce my visits with my therapist which saves me thousands.
Our doctor recommended using Amblyoplay after one of her other patients used it and saw great progress. We’re doing twice a week 45min sessions of in-office VT and then 30 minutes of Amblyoplay every day that we’re not at doctor’s office. Amazing!! We hardly skip any day and the pace of improvement has been surprising us all!!
I was quite suspicious of “vision therapy on the computer” so when I first found out about it on the internet, I dismissed it quickly, but then I saw a couple of positive reviews in some FB group where parents were sharing their experience. I’ve talked with our doctor if this could be something that could help my child and at that point, he just said that there really isn’t much to lose. Now I’m not sure who’s more enthusiastic about it after seeing the results!
My daughter can’t stand the eye patch and we’ve tried different brands – her skin just gets irritated so quickly. I’ve even tried applying some cream and while it did get better it was just a struggle for me as a mother to watch my daughter suffer through it. I ordered amblyoplay to avoid patching so when the software recommended monocular therapy with an eye patch, I was on their support right away demanding a refund. They suggested using a ‘pirate patch’ for just a month or so before trying on binocular therapy without a patch. After going through this I must say I honestly got some of the best advice on this journey from their team: they seemed to understand the problem and us! We’re finished now and we’re done with vision therapy for good but oh boy would I recommend this to everyone going through the same problem as we did!
My son had a hard time in school last year and his grades were just not what we expected. He’s a bright kid who can tell you all about dinosaurs and space but he always struggled with reading and writing. Over the summer I took him to an optometrist who found some problems and said that we have to ‘train his eyes’. Didn’t know what to think but I was googling for a solution. Found this, ordered and hoped for the best. Now, he’s turning into quite a bookworm so something must have worked because he loves reading!
My 8-year old daughter loves AmblyoPlay games. They are not only educational (geometric shapes), but also interesting and entertaining. Large assortment of games keeps things interesting, which is crucial to keep my daughter motivated for training and exercising!
I’m using amblyoplay myself. The software isn’t really that interesting for me as an adult but I know why I have to do the exercises. I guess it’s more fun for the kids. After being told for years that nothing can be done about my eye being lazy, I think I’m seeing some results. The start has been super hard as my eyes were tearing up and I had some headaches after every day training but now that I’ve gotten through the initial phase – it became my every day activity before I go to bed.
I found out about Amblyoplay in a facebook group about esotropia. Our problem was very serious (600/20) and I talked with them over their webpage chat. They admitted they didn’t have such a severe case before so they didn’t know if they can help. They offered us a full refund if we decide to try it out and were not satisfied. The results so far are incredible. We’re down to 100/20 after less than 2 months and we’re all super excited to see how it’s gonna improve even further!
First, let me tell you that my daughter had her eye evaluation yesterday and the therapy has worked. She is LEAPS and BOUNDS better than she was 9 months ago. She has only been doing it for 3 months and the amount of change is staggering. YAY!!!
Our daughter had a slight strabismus that’s hardly observable and it does not affect her vision at all. Even her eye doctor said that he doesn’t see any need for a procedure or therapy if it won’t get worse. She just started school and right away – kids started picking on here, teasing her about her skewed eye. We talked with teachers and parents but it’s not really helping. We’re playing your games now and the results are starting to show even after just two weeks. They still pick on her but I trust that after the problem is gone – they will forget about it.
We were very happy with AmblyoPlay, because as it has proven to be a great motivator for Nika (11). She was struggling with eye patching for 4 hours ever day. We replaced it with 30-minute AmblyoPlay exercise and the doctor observed great improvements! Amazing, no more everyday battles to start patching, she actually WANTS to do it!
I’ll just tell you this: my husband was telling me this was a scam and that I shouldn’t be looking at it – but I bought it anyways. The other day he took our son for a checkup and his VTOD said that we were really doing great with our VT homework. Guess what? He’ll never hear an end to it! ?
I don’t know if this will be useful to you, but I just wanted to let you know that my 9,5 year old was just at an eye exam after using AmblyoPlay every day and her visual acuity improved on both eyes for more than 50%! Absolutely amazing! Thanks!
At the age of 6, my daughter’s eyes started wandering visibly. The strabismic angle did not justify surgery so we resorted to vision therapy. We were patching, wearing glasses and doing exercises – and there were no results. After only 1 month of using AmblyoPlay, we are already seeing great improvement and we are continuing to use it daily!
Besides glasses not fitting our 3-year old the best, we’re very satisfied. We’re doing the exercises on an iPad which is much easier for a young kid than a computer. We had to block some games that were a bit too difficult for him but with the rest – we’re very happy. Oh, and we got custom made smaller glasses by them sent over mail! Such a nice touch!
Me and my wife (parents of 4) have quite hard time organizing the kids, their activities and our work so doing 3 visits with the doctor per week (1+ hour of drive away!!!) was simply undoable! We were looking if there’s anything we can find that we could do at home. We bought several tools and Amblyoplay was among them. My opinion? I wasn’t impressed when I first ran the software and when we got the glasses (nothing special at first), but guess what? It’s the thing that my son wants to use and for that reason – we’re working with it and his doc was really taken aback when we came for a checkup – going from 200/20 to 60/20 in a space of 2 months.
Wow! As a parent with a little one (age 5) who had VT sessions since she was 3, I was blown away with Amblyoplay! It’s the first time my daughter really enjoyed doing her eye exercises and not only that – she was often times the one who encouraged us to ‘play the games so that she’ll get a new piece of the puzzle’! The progress maybe wasn’t as fast but it’s very constant and I think it’s mainly due to the fact we’re really working on it every day. I would totally recommend Amblyoplay to any parent struggling with convincing your kiddos to do their ‘training’!
We discovered my son needed glasses just before he turned 5 years old. His first prescriptions was +5.50 OD and +6.00 OS along with amblyopia in the left eye. It was recommended at that time that we start vision therapy by patching. He was instructed to patch daily for a least an hour and we needed to follow up visit with the optometrist every 6 months. After the first visit, there was no improvement and the doctor recommended moving his prescription to +6.50 OD and +7.00 OS along with continuing the vision therapy. After one year, at almost aged 7, there was still a limited improvement of the amblyopia and again the doctor recommended a prescription increase to +7.50 and +8.00. At this time we requested to be referred to an ophthalmologist, who prescribed vision therapy in the form of daily atropine drops which were also used with different prescription glasses with a plano lens in the right eye for near-complete occlusion. This therapy continued for nearly 18 months. Just before he turned 9, his ophthalmologist advised that our window of improvement was narrowing if not completely closed, still with limited improvement. Vision in the left eye at this check-up was 20/60. It was at think point I began to research other options for therapy and found Amblyoplay. I order the unit and started with a 6-month subscription. After three months of use (admittedly not consistent with hectic schedules) he was due for a follow-up and the optometrist was impressed that his amblyopia had improved slightly, encouraged, we increased his therapy time and saw the doctor again a month later for a full exam and his left eye was assessed at 20/40! A is about to turn 10 and we are encouraged and hopeful that regular and continued use over the next few months will fully correct his amblyopia. Thank you. A very grateful mom!
It was a long wait to get Amblyoplay (about 10 days) as the box got lost somewhere so we had to hunt it all over Canada! Anyway, box arrived and we’re using it now – much to our surprise – the glasses we were waiting are not even being used for now as we are using an eye patch. They said that they will come into play later on as her eyes improve. So far she’s been using it quite consistently without any big difficulties.
I am an adult with exotropic strabismus working towards stereo vision. After only one week I am seeing results with this program! The games and therapies are interesting, unique, and effective. I am using it with in-office therapy for outstanding results.
We’re patching some over a year now his right eye and it was getting better and better. Then all of a sudden, we started noticing that his other eye which was previously OK. We went for a second opinion but nothing has changed, just that we should now be patching both eyes for part of the day. This didn’t sit well with me or my wife so I started doing some research. I was considering some VR solution, but was a bit much $$$. Found about Amblyoplay, decided to take the risk and whoa did it pay off!! Binocular VT all the way – now we’re working both his eyes at the same time and we can observe his improvement with our own eyes. Thanks!!
After we got diagnosed with lazy eye we were recommended patching the good eye for 4 hours per day. We tried, we failed – she was hitting objects, had problems moving around and didn’t like the patch at all. I started looking into alternatives and found out that patching isn’t the best. I was reading about binocular exercises before I stumbled across amblyoplay. It seemed interesting and was quite cheap compared with alternatives. So far so good, she enjoys doing it and we’re on track to finishing in next 2 months!
