We discovered my son needed glasses just before he turned 5 years old. His first prescriptions was +5.50 OD and +6.00 OS along with amblyopia in the left eye. It was recommended at that time that we start vision therapy by patching.
He was instructed to patch daily for a least an hour and we needed to follow up visit with the optometrist every 6 months. After the first visit, there was no improvement and the doctor recommended moving his prescription to +6.50 OD and +7.00 OS along with continuing the vision therapy.
After one year, at almost aged 7, there was still a limited improvement of the amblyopia and again the doctor recommended a prescription increase to +7.50 and +8.00. At this time we requested to be referred to an ophthalmologist, who prescribed vision therapy in the form of daily atropine drops which were also used with different prescription glasses with a plano lens in the right eye for near-complete occlusion. This therapy continued for nearly 18 months.
Just before he turned 9, his ophthalmologist advised that our window of improvement was narrowing if not completely closed, still with limited improvement. Vision in the left eye at this check-up was 20/60. It was at think point I began to research other options for therapy and found Amblyoplay. I order the unit and started with a 6-month subscription. After three months of use (admittedly not consistent with hectic schedules) he was due for a follow-up and the optometrist was impressed that his amblyopia had improved slightly, encouraged, we increased his therapy time and saw the doctor again a month later for a full exam and his left eye was assessed at 20/40! A is about to turn 10 and we are encouraged and hopeful that regular and continued use over the next few months will fully correct his amblyopia.
Thank you.
A very grateful mom!

Our child is 11 years old now and enjoyed the available games and the comfort of the red/blue glasses. It was not that difficult to take time to practice because the games were fun. I appreciated that Amblyoplay has made the set up for a device super easy as well so it didn’t take long to get started. They are a great company and we were glad they helped us all out on the Vision Therapy journey we’re on! We all felt it was well worth the time spent working in the program and a great solution for people that don’t have easy readily available access to vision therapy!

Hello! I am Georgia, from Greece. My son George, aged 5, has a lazy eye and the ophthalmologist we visited suggested physiotherapy with the use of Amblyoplay app. He played various games and performed the tests for 6 months. There was some improvement, but I feel that he needs more work. The games were very interesting for him in the beginning, but after 4-5 months he got tired of their repetition. Maybe a larger variety of games will positively influence how long the app stays interesting for a 5 yo child. Nevertheless, the award system integrated into the app with the various professions has managed to keep his interest until the end of the therapy.

Our daughter has experienced some amblyopia. We have done some patching and some in person vision therapy. The amblyoplay has been a unique product. I think for the most part she enjoys the amblyoplay..and that it is like play and games. It’s fun to have success with it and make it through new challenges and levels. We definitely have experienced some serious improvement with her eyes. I like how the software works and trains both eyes at the same time through different pathways. Whereas the patching only works on one eye at a time. Plus the time commitment is not enormous. We usually split it up with one training module in the am and the other in the afternoon, helps to have a break in between.
