Yes! AmblyoPlay takes advantage of our self-learning algorithm, which is constantly monitoring your progress and improvements. The training is therefore always adapting to your particular needs. However, we strongly encourage you to schedule regular appointments with your optometrist or eye doctor, so that they are on-board, and following up on the improvements. Nothing can replace a qualified professional and their services!

No. AmblyoPlay cannot correct refractive errors that are not neurological in nature.

AmblyoPlay can be used by patients from age 3 onwards! However, it does depend mostly on how proficient a child is with their tablet or a computer.

Yes! AmblyoPlay works for adults just the same as it does for kids. The only difference is that the speed of improvements diminishes with age. This has to do with a process called brain plasticity, which means that the brain starts to get slower in rebuilding neurological connections as we age. Yes! AmblyoPlay helps with different forms of strabismus! More specifically, it works for exotropias and esotropias. In general, it can help correct misalignments up to 30PD!

Yes! AmblyoPlay helps with different forms of strabismus, including esotropia and exotropia!

AmblyoPlay is beneficial for managing lazy eye or amblyopia and works across all variations of the condition. We address it by stimulating each eye at an appropriate level so that we reestablish neurological pathways between the eyes and the brain!

Yes! AmblyoPlay uses a binocular vision therapy approach, which makes it suitable for addressing convergence insufficiency as well as other binocular vision problems. We not only improve eyes individually but also train the brain to operate both eyes together effectively and in perfect sync!

We advise that you have a diagnosis before you start using AmblyoPlay. However, no precise medical records or results are needed.

AmblyoPlay Vision Therapy is currently available in twelve languages. Use AmblyoPlay in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Greek, Portuguese, Dutch, Turkish, Slovenian, Polish, or Hungarian!

AmblyoPlay is a wellness and wellbeing tool designed to support and enhance visual skills through fun and engaging exercises. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any medical condition. Instead, AmblyoPlay helps promote healthy visual function by providing enjoyable and interactive vision training.

AmblyoPlay cannot be used on smartphones because the screen size is too small for an optimal therapeutic effect.

AmblyoPlay supports:

In general, we always recommend as big of a screen as possible, but you should always aim to use AmblyoPlay on displays with at least 7in diagonal. There is no difference in effectiveness between a tablet or computer.

Yes, you can use AmblyoPlay on different devices, but please always make sure that you don’t leave the software running on multiple devices at the same time. Each account is intended to be used by only one patient, so that should not be a problem!

Yes. AmblyoPlay is adapting to your particular case in real-time, which means that your account is constantly communicating with the cloud to adjust the training. However, a very small amount of data will be used by AmblyoPlay, as only small data bits are shared.

Yes! Progress is saved in real-time after each step of Daily Training is completed. If you crash during the 3rd step, you will have to repeat this 3rd step, but the first 2 will be saved!

No. All progress is saved on the account level. It will be carried over on all devices that you use under the same AmblyoPlay account.

Amazon Fire is not an officially supported device. However, you can still use it on most Amazon Fire devices, if you have Google Play Store installed. On all Android-ran devices (which Amazon Fire is), the app is distributed through the Google Play Store.

The quality of different 3D (red-blue, red-green) glasses varies significantly. Our glasses are optimized for the use of AmblyoPlay. If you buy different glasses, just make sure that your right eye is covered with a red lens and your left eye with a blue/green lens. We have included color calibration within AmblyoPlay, which should allow you to reset the colors in a way that they will work at least to some degree with other lenses and glasses.

AmblyoPlay is not optimized for use on the TV. However, you can always cast it from your tablet onto a larger display. Just make sure that you perform the training at the distance that you set up during the initial onboarding.

Within each AmblyoPlay Box, standard-sized glasses come included. They are OK for everyone above the age of 5. Admittedly, they will be a bit oversized, but it is better to have a wider visual field covered. If you need smaller glasses instead (if your child is younger), you can either write a note in the order that we should replace the standard glasses with smaller ones, or you can purchase smaller glasses so that you have both at your disposal. You have a right to ensure, and you can request that your account and all associated data be deleted. To initiate the process, please send an email to [email protected] from the email as sociated with your AmblyoPlay account.

You can cancel your subscription by going to my.amblyoplay.com. In the left menu, click on “Manage Subscription” and follow the steps to cancel. If you need help, feel free to contact us at [email protected].

No. We do not provide eye patches in the AmblyoPlat Box at the moment. There are many preferences when it comes to eye patches, so we decided not to include them in our box. Most of the patients that do need an eye patch during the use of AmblyoPlay already use a patch outside of AmblyoPlay so they already have a stock of eye patches at their disposal.

However, we do sell AmblyoPlay Eye Patches separately.

When you receive your AmblyoPlay Box, please find the Activation Card within it. Steps to getting started are written on this card, along with the activation code that you will use to activate the software.

An activation code is a code that you use to activate your AmblyoPlay access. It is a unique code that will unlock the software for the purchased duration of time. You enter the activation code within your my.AmblyoPlay account (https://my.amblyoplay.com).

Onboarding is a short sequence that every user goes through after they run AmblyoPlay for the first time. Every patient receives a personalized training program, and onboarding is a way to kick this personalization off. During onboarding, you will provide some basic pieces of information that will help the software adapt the training program to your needs. The questions are very general, as this serves as a starting point for personalization, and the specifics are detected by the software throughout the use!

Our AmblyoPlay Glasses are a tool that is used during binocular vision therapy. By using these glasses, we split the image and stimulation that each eye receives, enabling us to address multiple problems at the same time!

You wear AmblyoPlay Glasses always when performing binocular vision therapy with AmblyoPlay. You put them over your prescription glasses (if any) or when you have your corrective contact lenses in.

If you did not receive a verification email after creating an AmblyoPlay account, please first check your Spam and Trash folders. Sometimes, these emails get filtered there. If the email is not found there, please send us an email to [email protected] and our Support Team will verify it for you!

You can extend your access to AmblyoPlay by creating a recurring subscription! You can do that within your my.amblyoplay account. 

If you forgot your AmblyoPlay password, simply navigate to the my.amblyoplay login page and select Forgot Your Password? You will receive a password recovery email to your email account. If it is not in your email inbox within 5 minutes, please also check your Spam or Trash folder. If it is not there, contact our support team at [email protected] .

If you are updating AmblyoPlay on Windows or Mac, you will have to download a new version from your my.amblyoplay account. On iPads or Android tablets, you update it in your App Store or Google Play Store, respectively. If you have automatic updates on your tablet activated, the update will be done automatically as soon as a new version of the application is available.

You can download the application from within your my.amblyoplay account. If you are planning to use AmblyoPlay on an iPad or Android tablet, you can download the AmblyoPlay app from App Store or Google Play Store, respectively.

If you are not able to log in, there are multiple reasons. Most often the reason is that the password is wrong. We always suggest that you first try resetting your password and trying again. If the problem persists, please do reach out to our support team at [email protected]. 

No. AmblyoPlay vision therapy is personalized automatically to each patient. If more than one person used the same account, the training would not be optimized and might not lead to improvements. If more than one person in the household requires training, each will have to have a separate AmblyoPlay account. We do offer family discounts, so if you have such a case, contact us at [email protected] or in our online chat here at this webpage.

User Menu is the main dashboard within AmblyoPlay. It is the screen where you have all the settings and controls of the application available.

You can perform a Visual Acuity Test once every week by clicking the Visual Acuity Test button in the User Menu. You will be prompted when the time is right to perform this test.

You can switch the therapy type in the Therapy Settings within the User Menu. If you want to switch from Monocular Training to Binocular Training, you will first have to undergo the Binocularity Assessment. Only if you are able to pass this assessment, will you be granted an upgrade to the Binocular Training. There are no limitations on switching from Binocular Training to Monocular training.

Monocular training mode is performed with an eye patch over the good eye and only exercises one eye. It is only prescribed in those cases when one eye is so severely handicapped that binocular training is not possible. However, even if you are prescribed this mode, you will be evaluated monthly and as soon as improvement is significant enough, you will be upgraded to the binocular training mode!

Binocular training mode is a mode of vision therapy that actively engages both eyes at the same time. Even if we are solving a monocular problem, binocular therapy will still be beneficial. In AmblyoPlay, binocular vision training mode is performed with A mblyoPlay Glasses, with which we split the image each eye receives. In this way, we are able to stimulate each eye individually, but at the same also improve binocular visual function (the ability of the brain to use both eyes at the same time to create a wholesome image).

Yes! You can repeat the onboarding procedure by clicking “Repeat Onboarding” button within Device Settings inside AmblyoPlay’s User Menu.

You can find some information about your performance on the main dashboard of the User Menu within AmblyoPlay. You can access more progress information by clicking the tile with the statistics, or visiting your my.amblyoplay page. In the menu, select Progress.

You can repeat calibration within Device Settings inside AmblyoPlay’s User Menu.

You can enter the therapy by clicking the orange button “Play Therapy” within the User Menu and then selecting the big yellow button “Daily Training” in the bottom middle of the screen.

Yes; you always wear AmblyoPlay over your prescription glasses or with your contacts in. As a general rule, all vision therapy activities should always be performed with optimal refractive correction.

You can select which games are offered to the user during Daily Training within “Game Selection” in the User Menu.

The Daily Training takes roughly 30 minutes and it is split in two 15-minute sessions. Between these two sessions, there is a 15-minute mandatory break to give the patient’s eyes a rest.

Yes; You can switch the therapy type in the Therapy Settings within the User Menu. If you want to switch from Monocular Training to Binocular Training, you will first have to undergo the Binocularity Assessment. Only if you are able to pass this assessment, will you be granted an upgrade to Binocular Training. There are no limitations on switching from Binocular Training to Monocular training.

Vision Therapy is training and as such quite intensive. We have to give the eyes a rest, as we don’t want them to be overworked and tired.

Yes. You can play a couple of extra games each day. With each game, you will lose in-game Energy, which you can refill by spending Gems. This is intentionally limited, as we don’t want you to do too much too quickly, as this has been shown to be less effective long-term. Gradual gains are more permanent and more long-lasting.

No. You only wear either an eye patch (monocular therapy), or AmblyoPlay Glasses (binocular therapy). In both cases, you should wear your contacts or prescription glasses.

You can refill your Energy by pressing the yellow + button next to Energy field. You will spend Gems to do that. The Energy is automatically refilled to 100% each day. We don’t want you to overdo the training so there is a limit to how much you can play our therapeutic games. It is therapy, first and foremost!

Once you complete your Diploma, you will receive an email with a link – you can always check your spam folder, just to make sure it did not get filtered there!

You collect and gather Gems by:

• completing your Daily Training and
• finishing the Achievements and Diplomas.

Once you complete the character that you are leveling up, you will get a new character to level. You can always see any character you have already collected by clicking the arrow signs on both sides of the character. You can change the character’s gender by clicking the Settings wheel next to the character name in the Game Menu.

Achievements are tools with which we reward the user’s dedication and commitment to the training. By completing different achievements that are forcing the user to work hard and diligently, you are collecting Gems that you can spend to upgrade your character or renew Energy!

Yes! You can turn the sound off or on by clicking the Settings wheel in the Game Menu next to the Character name (top right corner).

Yes! You can rename the user by clicking the Settings wheel in the Game Menu next to the Character name (top right corner).

Yes! You can choose the gender of the character by clicking the Settings wheel in the Game Menu next to the Character name (top right corner).

AmblyoPlay vision therapy is a completely personalized training program, which adapts to the user. Each user thus receives a tailor-made program and this whole process is done automatically based on:

• the initial input by the user during the Onboarding Procedure, and
• the performance throughout the use of the software.

The software is constantly monitoring and analyzing the user’s performance and behavior and adapts the training program accordingly in real time to provide optimal improvements. This is facilitated by our self-learning algorithm, which takes advantage of previous training results, as well as a deep understanding of the benchmark values of a well-developed vision. Vision therapy is personalized on three key pillars:

• Age: The level of exercise adapts according to the patient’s age.
• Vision problem: Vision therapy is customized to address specific visual problems.
• Progress: AmblyoPlay adapts its approach as individuals make progress.

All of this personalization is achieved with the initial onboarding process, constant monitoring of the performance, and weekly visual acuity check-ups.
